What is In Motion Therapy’s Role in Patient Care?
It’s expansive, all-encompassing…and tailor-made to each individual who comes through our doors. According to the definition written by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), physical therapists: “…examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability.” (To read further from the APTA website visit: http://www.apta.org/PTCareers/RoleofaPT/)
What a thorough, well-rounded description of our motivation and work ethic here at In Motion Therapy.
But what exactly does that mean for you?
It means we don’t just treat the symptoms. It means we don’t just look to improve physical movement and mobility. That’s only part of it. At In Motion Therapy, we want to restore a total sense of well-being in our patients. To do that, we need to be as unique and comprehensive in our approach as our patients are in their individuality.
It’s more than physical. It’s emotional and mental. It’s social.
At In Motion Therapy, we want to help restore the body to optimal health. Of course we do. But, to better achieve this, we also want to help restore the patient’s faith in their body—to believe it can heal, that it can rebuild and regrow. And, sense optimal health means different things to different people, we strive to get each patient back to the life they were living, the life they want to be living—from leisure activities (we want to get them out bump-set-spiking or shooting for Eagle); to career requirements (from deskwork to heavy-lifting and more); and everything else in between so they can get back to doing what they love.
At In Motion Therapy, we aren’t just looking at the body but the person living inside it.
